COACH COMMENTS ON TEAM/LEAGUE

We will be old, but inexperienced. We had seniors last year that just didn't need to come off the floor. Most of our juniors (now seniors this year) played JV minutes because we knew we'd need them this year, but we had no minutes for them at the varsity level.

We don't have a single post player so most of our scoring will have to come from the perimeter. We have some pretty intelligent basketball players, but they will have to prove that they can make plays.

We're obviously hoping to fight for a playoff spot, but that will not be an easy chore. We could finish anywhere from fourth to seventh. The teams in front of us have more game experience, more returning varsity players and each team has at least one 'superstar" that can take a game over. We don't have any of that. We'll have to develop all those things in order to complete with them.

West should have the best total front line in the league--proven varsity players who are extremely athletic and strong. They will be tough for all teams to defend.

Redmond has strong returning players, including the biggest post in the league (Michael Luenen). They are great defensively and very tough physically.

When Sprague has their entire roster available, they can battle for a league championship. They return a bunch of players that spent a large part of the season in second place.

McNary runs their offense as well as any team you'll see play. They return almost their entire roster. South Salem wll battle because they have a unanimous first team selection playing for them (Cannefax).
