Sprague (3-0, 1-0 in CVC play) hosts McNary next Friday, while McKay (1-2, 1-1) travels to South Salem.
South Salem 24, Redmond 0
Despite a difficult first half, the Saxons had more than enough firepower to pick up the road win against a young Redmond team.
South quarterback Conor Lynch scored the opening TD of the game on a 69 yard run to give the Saxons a 7-0 lead after one quarter. The only other points of the half came on a 31 yard field goal by Jordan Rideout as time expired to give the Saxons a 10-0 advantage going into the locker room.
South Salem quickly extended the lead in the second half, using a time consuming, eight minute drive to cover 55 yards in 11 plays--capped by Lynch's 20 yard TD pass to Junior Espitia.
South tallied their final TD with just over nine minutes left in the game. Lynch drove the Saxons 63 yards on six plays--with the key blow coming on a 31 yard pass to Espitia to give South first and goal at the Redmond 2. Two plays later, Lynch hit Espitia with a 2 yard alley-oop pass for the final score of the night.
Lynch ended the game with 300 yards in total offense, including 181 yards through the air and 119 yards rushing. The Saxon defense limited Redmond to just 184 yards in the game.
South (3-1, 1-0) will be at home next week against McKay. Redmond (0-4, 0-1) has a bye before traveling to North Salem in two weeks.
West Salem 43, McNary 0
West Salem was without quarterback Brett Smith, who cracked his elbow in last week's victory against Tigard. But senior Phil Tolley was ready to fill in, operating the Titan offense almost flawlessly in a shutout road win at McNary.
Tolley passed for 184 yards and a touchdown, and added another 100 yards and a TD rushing. Titan running back Sal Herrera tallied over 150 yards on the ground and scored a pair of touchdowns.
West Salem led the game 21-0 at half.
