West, South are favorites
Coaches favor Titans, Saxons for '10 CVC football crown

If the coaches are correct, it will be a two-horse race for the Central Valley Conference football title this season.

Full Access Sports' annual poll of all six conference football coaches puts South Salem and West Salem neck and neck for the league championship.

West Salem grabbed four first place votes for 24 points in the survey, while South Salem received the other two top votes, just two total points behind at 22.

Who will receive the third and final CVC playoff spot under the new OSAA format is still up in the air in the survey.

Sprague and McKay finished tied for third in the poll, while McNary and North Salem were also all-even in total votes in fifth place.

Teams begin playing on Friday, September third. The new, six team Central Valley Conference will start league action the first Friday in October.
